Michele's Night- Celebration of Life 9-11-09

Michele is a beautiful, sweet young lady who was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma in August. The cancer has infected several parts of her body, including her liver, spine, pelvis, and brain. In Michele's own words: "I know this sounds terrible, but I look at it as a chance to live the rest of my life on my terms and make sure I live with no regrets. The most important things to me right now are family, friends, love, laughter, and focusing on enjoying this moment for all its worth. As a family, we decided that the best course of action for me at this time is to use home hospice to give me the best quality of life absolutely possible as long as possible." Since Michele is recovering from her back surgery, she is unable to go out on dates, so a friend of hers, Devin, decided to bring date night to her. Michele's night included a make up artisit, a wonderful boyfriend, family, friends, live music, a romantic gourmet meal and fire dancers, along with lots of love and laughter. What a magical night. I was blessed to have been there and to have witnessed such love. Thank you Michele for letting me share in your special night. You are beautiful and strong, and an inspiration to us all. Michele passed away this morning on 9-17-09. She will be missed and never forgotten. She has changed the way I look at life, for which I will be forever grateful.
